Hello fellow scary/suspenseful story lovers!

BlackpawMany people love stories, and many of those people love suspenseful stories. You know which ones I’m talking about; the stories that make you want to know what’s going to happen next!

According to http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/10/25/why-our-brains-love-horror-movies-fear-catharsis-a-sense-of-doom.html, “If we have a relatively calm, uneventful lifestyle, we seek out something that’s going to be exciting for us, because our nervous system requires periodic revving, just like a good muscular engine,” says Fischoff.(Stuart Fischoff)

Each time we engage in a story that could scare or excite us, we expect to be thrilled. The thrill of a good, suspenseful story, is something that is needed for a supernatural thriller to have value. This, combined with the constant engagement of a good plot, keep the reader engaged.

To create a “page turner” is every creative writer’s dream! With sufficient interest in a story, people want, and even crave more. Each new plot element or character development builds a self sufficient world, but one that demands to be improved. From many different changes, the world grows and develops.

Each new branch of this new world becomes important to those involved, the followers of the story or stories. The more intricate a story/world becomes, the more invested the readers become. If enough readers become interested in characters and story lore, the world will continue to grow and maybe even become more.

Popular books can become plays, screenplays, shows, and even movies. That can be something very exciting to a creative writer, to witness their figurative baby come to life in different ways than just in their head or on paper. To create is great, but even just the thought of witnessing your creation come to life in different ways, or on the big screen, in the proper way, is incredible!
